Yet another round of Zofran lawsuits are passing through the judicial system. Each lawsuit involves a parent suing on behalf of their children who are suffering birth defects and/or health issues because of their mother’s Zofran use. Zofran has been used to help ease morning sickness in expectant mothers even though there is yet to be an FDA approval for this application.
According to lawsuit documents, attorneys claim that GSK (the maker of Zofran) either knew of or should have known the dangers that taking the drug during pregnancy could have on the unborn fetus. Moreover, the unsafe drug lawsuit claims that proper warnings were not provided for the women to whom it was prescribed.
There are currently consolidated Zofran lawsuits spanning at least eight states (Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Montana, New Jersey, Ohio and Texas); however, there are other cases spread out around the country.
